Aurora Wings Challenge #53- Anything Goes using "Flora 2- Goddess of Flowers"

Image may contain: 1 person
Hello again!! 2 post within a few days!! Aren't you guys shocked!! Me too!!! I love it when I get to color all of the images at once!! Today I get to share with you my latest Aurora Wings piece. I loved working with Flora 2: Goddess of Flowers.
I really wanted to work with some softer colors for this one so I used my RV90's, V90's and R90's which came out a little pinker than I wanted but it really adds a nice pop of color.

To finish this piece off I matted it on some purple card stock, edged with ivory lace and added an inspirational Claude Monet quote in the corner because the soft blending of all the colors really made me this of Monet with this one, the blending of the flowers, hair and dress also really helped take my mind to Monet.

Lastly I framed her up in a beautiful black leather frame.

Here's a close up of the quote for you:
"It's on the strength of observation and reflection that one finds a way. So we must dig and delve unceasingly." -Claude Monet

Now if you love this beautiful image you can find it here:

Flowers, Feathers and Fairies: New Releases!!! Floating Isles and Hunter with Wolf

Good Morning Everyone!!! I have a couple super awesome new images to share with you today!!
Flowers, Feathers and Fairies just released this awesome new background digital stamp called Floating Isles and I love it!! Soooo much!!
Floating Isles Background Digi Stamp - JPG

So first I merged with "Tiger Lily" and colored it up!!
I created a day scene for this image and I absolutely adore it!! Look at all those layers in the sky!! Just such incredible depth created by Sabrina here!!

Next I merged it with "Hunter with Wolf" and created a night scene:
I love all the details that are left for us!! I chose to add a few little stars as if they were just starting to appear but wait till you see what Sabrina did with her night scene!! Its incredible!!

And lastly we let my 6 year old have a little play with the "Floating Isles" and "Peony Fairy"
Skyla had so much fun coloring with up!! She was thrilled to start looking at cast shadows and layers and although its not perfect I think she nailed it!!
Sabrina added an extra large peony and a couple little ones in the grass for us and she's told me if anyone wants to recreate this just purchase the 2 images and send her an email and she will send you this file with the extra Peonies added.

That's all for me today. I know it's short and sweet and missing all kinds of links I usually give you guys and I do appologize but I'm running behind with my life and just finished coloring late last night. Today is Canada Day so we are heading to join the celebrations with the kiddos and I must go dress and sunscreen the masses!!
Happy Weekend!!!

PS Make sure you pop by the Flowers, Feathers and Fairies Blog to see what everyone else created!!!

I am entering these projects in the World Wide Open Design Team Challenge.

Aurora Wings New Release Friday Showcase!!! Featuring Wings & Petals, Lady of the Sea Full Version and Cinderella Full Version

I am always so delighted when Mitzi asks us to work with new images and help the Aurora Wings Showcase Design Team out. I LOVE getting to work with these new images and show you how stunning they can be when you put some color on them!! Today there are 6 new images being release because we are celebrating 3000 members in our Aurora Wings Facebook Group!!! Make sure you pop over there for all of the details of the weekends events!!!
For now let me show you the amazing Wings & Petals!! Isn't she just unbelievably stunning!!!! I colored her in 8x8 to be sure to get as much detail as I could in all those petals and butterfly wings!!
Then I framed her in an 8x8 shadow box with "Without Change there would be no Butterflies" on the glass.
I'm loving how the gold glitter vinyl plays to well off the yellow flowers. I think they make each other pop.
And lastly, I had to show you the stunning close up of those butterfly wings!!! Just gorgeous!! The detail in them was just enough to give you an idea but not so much you couldn't have your own creative say on how they turned out.
It was just such a stunning image to work with!! I cannot wait to get to color her again!!!

You can find Wings & Petals here:

Now the second lovely image I got the pleasure of working with is Lady of the Sea Full Version. It is an unbelievably gorgeous image!! So full of details and shadows to play with!!
Isn't it just stunning!! I am completely floored by all the little details Mitzi added in here!! They all come together for such a stunning effect!!

Once I had her all colored up I matted her in some lovely mermaid themed paper from Kaiser Kraft. I added a lovely, fun, inspirational sentiment to the side for some fun!
Here's a little closer look at the sentiment and all the little sea creatures added.

Doesn't she just look lovely with that ocean like paper around her?

Lastly I framed her up for display!!
Thanks for allowing me to play with this amazing image Mitzi!! I just adored coloring her!!!

Aurora Wings Challenge #51: "Celebration" matted print using "Circe Lounging with Lion and Flowers"

Hello everyone!! Have you been missing me? I've been missing you!!! I have a folder on my computer with seriously like 100 pictures to upload and share with you all but I think its gonna be into July before that happens sadly!!
However, today I have a fun project to share with you using Aurora Wings "Circe Lounging with Lion and Flowers." This is a very detailed, challenging image to work with but reward when its all finished is soooo worth it!! I am completely in love with the final outcome here!!
Isn't she just stunning!! The details in everything are just amazing!! The folds are her toga and all the leaves in the flowers. And don't get me started on that lion mane!! LOVE!!!
I took our Celebration theme a little different direction this time. Rather that celebrating and event I thought we would have a personal celebration! I love this quote and I think it does so much to build a person up!!!
I framed it in this beautiful dark brown frame that would go well with the other colors used but also help pop the sunset background.
You can grab this incredible image here:

Please make sure you stop by the Aurora Wings Challenge Blog to enter as well as check out the rest of the design teams projects!!!

Make sure you come by this Friday as well!! It's new release day and all of the Aurora Wings Design Teams have been collaborating to give you some AMAZING inspiration with the images being released!! Check it out on the Aurora Wings Showcase Blog!!

In this house we believe in Unicorns and Dragons framed image using Flowers, Feathers and Fairies "Unicorn and Dragon"

Hey you guys!!! It's my turn to do an inspiration post for Flowers, Feathers and Fairies digital stamps!! For my birthday back in April the amazing Sabrina drew this image as well as an individual Unicorn and Dragon for me because my 6 and 4 year old daughters LOVE unicorns and dragons. I immediately fell in love with the images but as of yet have only gotten to color the Dragon and I'm not sure I have even shared with with you all yet! How awful is that!!! So for my turn as inspiration provider for the month I decided to take the opportunity to color this image with the first idea that popped into my head when I saw it!!! I had to modify a little due to time constraints but the girls and I are thrilled with the outcome and I soooo hope you will be too!!
So for starters let me introduce you to "Unicorn and Dragon"
Unicorn and Dragon - Digi Stamp JPEG+PNG

How adorable is that?!?!??!?! The butterflies and the flowers in the unicorn mane and tail give it such a playful feel!!

I decided to use a combination of techniques learned in my Kit and Clowder monthly classes to color up the image.
I love how my vision came to life here!! I wanted it to create a really magical scene here with elements that we all love. So the rainbow is my little girl, the wild flower meadow is my big girl (and me, one of the favorite places hubby and I found on our honeymoon in the Rocky Mountains around Jasper National Park) and the mountains are me. I love how each of these elements combined with the "Unicorn and Dragon" image make this image just a perfect representation of our family!!

Then I created my own version of the oh so popular "In this house" phrases going around. I honestly believe that the imagination and ability to image are two of the most important traits you can have!!! Without imagination we were never progress as a society. No one would think of new ideas. I want my girls to follow their imaginations wherever they may take them.
My big girl always says to me that the mythical creatures she loves right now aren't real. I ask her how she knows. She says she's never seen them. And I tell her that that's not proof they aren't real, it's proof no one has seen them. I choose to believe in Santa and the Easter Bunny and Unicorns, Mermaids and Dragons. Because without magic where would the fun be. There's so much magic for them to believe in and to see in the world if they only look for it!!! But they will never look if they don't believe.

To finish this project off I framed it in a lovely frame. It's currently sitting in an alcove by our front door. The girls are getting a thrill out of having a little bit of them right out there for the world to see. I think it helps them know this is their home too and pieces of them should fill it! Not just toys put away and beds made but the little things that make them who they are fill this home and are showcased here. And.... then... there's no fighting over who's room gets the "Unicorn and Dragon" image because that was the first question when I finished coloring it!! LOL

If you would like some more inspiration for these images pop over to the Flowers, Feathers and Fairies Blog and take a look at what the rest of the Design Team created for release weekend!!! These images were a surprise to me so I didn't get to participate but the rest of the team did an amazing job!!

OK, I'm off now to start another busy week here!! Hope you all enjoyed my little project for today!! See you all again real soon!! Thanks for popping by!!

Advice from a Waterfall using Flowers, Feathers and Fairies "Aiyanna" and "Waterfall Lagoon"

Hey you guys!! I am sooooo excited to share with you our new image from Flowers, Feathers and Fairies!!! Sabrina read everyone saying in our Kit and Clowder group how much they would love a good waterfall digital stamp and she listened sooooo Viola!! "Waterfall Lagoon" was born!!
And what would a waterfall lagoon be without someone enjoying it? Viola!! "Aiyana" and "Seafairy" were born!!
"Aiyana"

"Seafairy"

Now, if you are like me and not so tech savy you can purchase "Waterfall Lagoon, Seafairy, and Aiyana" in a bundle in the Flowers, Feathers and Fairies Etsy Store. You will receive each individual image as well as "Aiyana" and "Seafairy" merged with "Waterfall Lagoon." If you purchase this way you will save about 14% over what you would pay to purchase each individually. Purchasing in the bundle is also the only way to get the merged images so it's totally worth it!!!
I did not work with "Seafairy" but both Sabrina and another of our Design Team did so make sure you pop by the Flowers, Feathers and Fairies Blog to see some inspiration with those images!!

I would love to show you what I have created with these images!!! I used "Aiyana" and "Waterfall Lagoon" premerged to create a pretty awesome matted image, if I do say so myself!!
I started by coloring up the image with techniques I have learned from my Kit and Clowder classes. I loved coloring up all the layers and waves within that water!! It was an awesome challenge for me!! The way that Sabrina has drawn the canoe under the water makes it really look like its sitting in water not just drawn on a page. You know what I mean?

So I went snooping the internet for some kind of quote to put with this image. I was on pinterest looking for "Waterfall Quotes" when I found this one from Your True Nature. I am loving all these quotes and you can bet I will be using them again!!
I created the matte with my cricut and the plaque shape on the side with the quote. I finished it up with a few feather embellishments and distressed the edges and TA-DA!

I put her in a beautiful wood frame and I am beyond thrilled with the final outcome!! I love how the nature beauty of this image is enhanced by the "Advice from a Waterfall." I can her the water crashing down when I'm looking and reading. That to me is such an important part of our art... that we feel something; that we relate to it; that it sparks emotional response!!

OK, I must be off to enjoy the rest of my Mother's Day now. And for those of you in North America.... Happy Mothers Day!!! Thanks for popping by today!!

Aurora Wings Challenge #49: Frame It! using Aurora Wings "Orchid Corner" Digital Stamp

Image may contain: flower and plant
Hello All!! Man, have things been quiet in here!! I'm so sorry for that! I feel like our life just went into overdrive!! I'm really hoping things will settle down in the near future and then entire folder of "To be blogged" images will make it to you soon!! But for today I do have an awesome image to share with you from Aurora Wings!!
Mothers Day is coming and I am doing my very best to get ready. I have no idea what's happening for gifts yet but I have most of my cards done!! This is one of them!! I used the "Frame It!" inspiration for this challenge to frame in the inside of a card for my mother in law. She loves orchids and she loves purple soooo....
I used this beautiful Orchid Gatefold Card from Dreaming Tree to create my card base. These files are so easy to work with and the end result is just gorgeous!!! That gorgeous envelope over there... yup, it comes with the file!! You cannot go wrong with that!!

So I started by opening the file in my Cricut Design Space. I laid a rectangle over Dreaming Trees card base inside the card to see how big I needed to make my base with my Orchid digital stamp from Aurora Wings. Then I popped back into Microsoft Word, set my rectangle size there and imported the Orchid Corner digital stamp twice and sized each to fit the corners so that they filled the corners but not the whole rectangle.
I printed it off on my copic xpress it paper and got to work!! I just love how this inside shows so many different layers and colors while not looking overwhelming!!
To color the Orchid Corner digital stamp I pulled out my V91-V99 copics and my Kit and Clowder Elements of Nature Class and got to work!!
To finish it off I edged everything with my Tim Holtz Dusty Concord distress ink and used it to stamp the sentiment. Then I embossed it quick and VIOLA!!! One custom Orchid Gatefold card for my amazing Mother in Law!!

I hope this gives you a different way to look at our Frame It! Challenge this week over at the Aurora Wings Challenge Blog!! And if you would like to grab this digi for yourself you can find it in these places:
