Gift Card Holder Box

So my "wifey" is one of my closests friends and when I was preggo with the oldest she honestly was at the house more than my hub, and we worked together and we played together and and and so she got named "wifey".
Well her birthday was last friday. We had talked earlier in the week and it sounds like I wouldn't see her till this coming saturday or sunday so I didn't panic about getting her gift or card ready...
Till she calls me Tuesday and says I'm just gonna take a shower see you in an hour!
Wait what? No card, no gift, 1 hr and I live 25min from town... ok PANIC!

I had wanted to get her a gift card for new sandals or something for the 6wk trip to Thailand she's taking... Not gonna happen!

So I popped on the computer, downloaded and SVG from SVG Attic into my Design Space and got to cutting!!! And in less than an hour, while caring for children this is what I popped out:

Like that cheque in there? Thats what we call "improvising old school"!!!

It was a fun and easy little project to make. Its from the Motherly Moments set if your interested! There are 2 other projects with the file as well.

I can not tell you anything about materials as it all just got thrown around and cleaned up later!!

And that's all for tonight, my friends! I will tell you all about the Mothers Day gifts I'm making hopefully in a few days!!

Night!!

New copic class...

I think I stumbles upon Alyce from Kit and Clowder on Saturated Canary Challenge Blog... I can't remember...
But I got an email a week or so again about a new kind of class they are offering and I thought it was a great idea!!! So I emailed my partner in crime, Wanda, and decided to take it. The techniques that Alyce is teaching us are sooooo cool!! I have had my copic collection growing for a couple years but have really learned very little about how to use them. I try to take the classes my local lady offers but child care kinda gets in the way... so this new Create and Learn class I can do at home in my own time!
I LOVE IT!!!
I learned a crazy amount in just that first class!! I look a images differently now. For pete sake I even see the shadows on TV character faces and go "oh so that's what she was talking about!" Oy Oy Oy

So do you wanna see what we colored for the first class? Do ya? Do ya?

OK!!

Please don't ask all the colors I used because to be honest I just can't remember!!!

This was hard, really hard!!! I redid each element at least twice I think the hair up to 7 times... But I am a perfectionist and I just wanted to get it right since I was there to learn ya know?

Anyway, I can tell you that I used Wink of Stella, Turquoise and Purple Stickles, and CTMH pearl paint.

If you curios this class gets emailed to you with a 2.5hr video and a 16pg document to walk you through each element step by step. It's awesome!!

You do have to buy the digi but you recieve a discount with your class purchase. And I have seen other students use different images to learn the same techniques.

I could rave all day but I'll stop there... Isn't she pretty? She is now framed and hung in my oldests daughters room. And I have another one to color for next saturday on top of Mothers Day prep and kiddos to raise... wish me luck!!!

Ok, I think that leaves just 1 more for the night and then I'm off...

Triple time stamping

I dunno if you guys know this about me yet, but I love a challenge and I love something new!! So when I saw the challenge at 52 Christmas Card Thowdown- April Technique challenge I kinda glancced over it, thoughts thats cool but I don't have time right now to create something that cool... Until I took a few minutes to watch the video and realized how easy it was!! So I shot Wanda a text and we decided to give it a shot, it was a challenge to each other for the evening... And now here I am blogging away and not working on what I need to work on.. Way to go Wanda!!! And she beat me to it!! Her sicko son was to bed before my daughters which never happens, except when he's being a sicko AGAIN!! LOL
So anyway here it is: my first attempt at Triple Time Stamping:

Supplies used:
CTMH Pear and Partridge stamps, Tim Holtz Mini Blueprints stamps, CTMH Saddle cardstock, CTMH Black, Ponderosa Pine, Saddle, Olive and Cranberry inks, Memento in Black and Copics R29, 27, 24, RV 69, and Yellow Stickles

8X8 Scrapbook Pages-- Knights, Princesses and Bubble Guppies

Did you miss me?? I missed me!! I'm sorry I have been gone so long but man have we been busy!!!!
Along with everyday life we threw in a quick trip to see one of my besties up north and then Daddy was home and and and...
But I'm here and I have quite a few projects to show you so grab a glass of your prefered beverage and follow along on my creations of the last few weeks!!

To start....
I finished my Mother in Laws scrapbook pages... and when I say finish I mean that I got done what I can. I will owe her the pictures of my Sister in Laws pregnancy and baby Lewis' arrival but I have to wait for those busy parents of 3 to have time to send them!!

Lets start with the first party- Bubble Guppies- You've heard all about this one already cuz I threw it! LOL But here is another idea for scrapbook layouts...

I think you have heard about my neice and nephews birthday party already as well. He wanted knights and she wanted princesses. I bought these cuts from Miss Kates SVG's. And they worked perfectly for what I wanted!! Because the kids birthdays are a month apart I felt like they desrved thier own 4 pgs plus why shouldn't Gramma have just as many pics of them as the others just because they shared a party? So I tried to put equal pics of each kid on their layouts and then anything of the other kids I mixed between the 2.

OK, so that's that project... Ready for the next? See you back here in 10!

Fondant

As I mentioned when I first started my blog I like to create all kinds of things..
For my besties 30th birthday (you saw her card and canvas a week or so ago) her hubby asked me to make the cake....
I have never worked with fondant. I have never made fondant. I have never made a layered cake. I have never used flavor besides vanilla in my cakes. You want me to keep going on the I have nevers?
So I hit pinterest...
http://www.cakecentral.com/gallery/i/1700849/geechigirls-high-heel-shoe-templatehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fliYRvFHZU4
http://ktwb.com/blogs/miss-cindys-sensations/1325/how-to-make-a-pink-zebra-cake/
http://www.madefrompinterest.net/magic-clean-bbq-grill/

With that information and some help from my little sister and a girlfriend I got to work...

Tips:
No not premake your fondant.
Black icing makes everything black.
Hubbys are better at rolling things that I am
Corn syrup warms really easy!!!
Its not as easy as it looks!!!

Here's what my man and I whipped up...

And lastly, Hubby would be so mad if he ever knew I posted this but I had to have proof!!!!! He's an amazing man!!!

I'm not thrilled with how it turned out. Its not Cake Boss perfect. But for my first attempt doing anything of the sort I'm happy with it. And Carrie loved it!!! Which is all that matters to me!

The Baby is here!!

For anyone who has been following along my new nephew arrived on Wedsnesday afternoon!!! I can't wait to go meet him!!!!
I showed you all the vinyl work I did for his room and how it looks now that it's up on the wall... Well I have one more for you and for him!!!!

I whipped up a Birth Announcement subway art design for him as all of his information became available...

Here's what I created:

He does now have a name... Lewis Andrew Paull (yes, its 2 l's Lol) Pyper. I have it all cut and ready to go!! And although it didn't quite go on the transfer tape as perfect as I had hoped I'm very pleased with the final look of it and can't wait to see it up in his nursery!!!

Glass Frosted Mug

My daughter guitar teacher stepped outside the norm by agreeing to teach her... most won't take kids on till they are 6 or so. She is 4. And has no decided to try something new... But I had to make him a Thank You Gift...

To create this I took a dollar store mason mug. Designed the image on Cricut Design Space and cut it on vinyl. I then used Martha Stewart Glass Frosting Paint and dabbed it over the image. I pulled the vinyl off right away and used my cricut pick to do some cleaning up where the paint smudged. I let it sit over night and then put it in the cold over, turned it on to 350, when it reached 350 I set the timer for 30min. When the timer went off I turned the oven off and left the mug in there for about 4 hours. The baking process is what cures the paint and it is now dishwasher safe according to the instructions.

These instructions are attempt number two's. Not what I did the first time. LOL

I think it turned out great!!!

Knights and Princesses Birthday Layout

A few weeks ago we celebrated my niece and nephews birthdays. She wanted Princesses and he wanted Knights so my sister in law compromised with a medieval -ish theme.
We decorated crowns and tiaras, made dragons from toilet paper rolls, had an Elsa sing-a-long and a costume parade. They also made a Humpty Dumpty piñata... he works for medieval right? Lol
She also took an bundt cake pan and turned it into a castle using marshmellows for turrets.
We had a great day!!

Here are our layouts for the party... Same layout just 3 different paper sets... I am apparently out of almost all grey now!

Stayed tuned for more!
