Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog #261- Shape Up

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #261-Shape Up
Make a Shaped Card (anything but a square or rectangle)

This Weeks Sponsor
Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

For this challenge, it is for a shaped card, therefore no extra chances of winning.

Hey Everyone!! For this weeks challenge I made a box card for I guess she would be my second cousin... my cousins daughter... Anyway, I had so much fun creating this one!!!! I used so many functions on my Cricut Explore and my August Create and Learn Class.

Voila!! A Frozen box card!! I have been wanting to play with my Frozen cartridge since I got it and this is the first chance I have had!! And as soon as I saw the Create and Learn class for August I envisioned it with Elsa in front.. So I got to create 2 visions in 1!!

Supplies:
CTMH Glacier cardstock
Frozen Cricut Cartridge and Ashlyn Alphabet Cricut Cartridge
Copics: B32,34,37,39
White Paint Pen

I should note that I used the Print then Cut feature for all the characters as well as to create the patterned paper. :D

Hope you all have as much fun as I did creating your shaped cards!!! I can't wait to see!!!

"SOLD"

So the rental property that I mentioned previously, that just sold, was our home before it was a rental. It was our first home, where we lived when we got engaged, where I spent my wedding day, where I first found out I was expecting our daughters, we my sister spent her wedding day, where we lived when our daughters were born. Our oldest said her first words, took her first steps, all of those babies firsts happened there. It is where I finally felt safe to break down and have a good cry when my Great Gramma died. It holds so many unbelievable memories for me!! My good friend, Wanda, told me she was expecting miracle baby number 2 sitting in my living room holding my first baby. <TEARS>
I am having a very hard time letting that HOME go. But it is time. Our family has moved on to a new home that fits us all, where new memories are being built! Baby number 2 did all her first here except coming home for the first time. LOL.
I wanted the new owner to know that house was a home, our home, and now their home. I wanted them to know some of the beautiful memories it holds safely in its walls. I wanted them to know it is a beautiful place for them to build their life and their memories and to wish them luck in their new HOME.
And so this is what I created for them:

It is quite simple, I know, but all I know about the new owner is that he is male. So I needed to make something very neutral. I don't know his age or background, likes or dislikes, religion or lack there of. So I played it super safe and just made a quick and simple little card. Inside I wrote a much briefer version of what I wrote above and wished him luck.
And tomorrow I will leave it on the counter when I am in that home, for the last time before I hand over keys to the realtor and move that home officially into our past. <TEARS>

Thanks to an awesome realtor... and the September Create and Learn Class

You all know how much I love my monthly Create and Learn class from Kit and Clowder, right? Alyce has out done herself again!! I have not had a chance to sit and play and learn everything this class has to teach yet about creating images like this in Microsoft Word. But I want to!! And all the information is there for me as soon as I have time!! For now, I used the predesigned background she sent with it and I did swap out the image for something that worked better for my current needs.
Without further ado... Here it is!!

Although these are the same image I tried the skirt 2 different ways so ended up trying a few other things different ways as well. Darkening the curtains for example. I love the things we learned this month!!!

I then took one of the completed images and turned it into a card for our realtor who recently sold our rental property!! One less thing to stress about!!!

Another Frozen Birthday

I don't know how many Frozen birthdays this makes for the year... I think 3... maybe 4... and strangely I'm not sick of them yet!!! HEHEHEHE
This one is for my cousins daughter... Today all you get to see is the gift itself... the card will be next week for Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog... make sure you come back and see because it is sooo cool!!!

I colored the background using the Kit and Clowder Create and Learn- September Class. I designed the border in Cricut Design Space and then did a "Print then Cut". I also designed the characters in Cricut Design Space and then "Print then Cut" them out as one pig image. I love the way it turned out and from what I can tell she did too!

Warm Hugs

I love the beautiful colors of fall. And that's about it... I hate that it starts getting colder and I hate that it leads to winter. And at in our family it means work... lots of work... Harvesting the fields and the garden and getting all of that put away.
But I do love the colors and the return of warm cozy sweaters and that it is again acceptable to serve soup and fresh buns as lunch on a regular basis.
So... In an effort to make myself like this beautiful season a little more I made something pretty in its colors (my favorite part!) for one of my favorite peoples birthdays!

Hey Everyone!! I have a little activity gift for you today made with Bugaboo's Word Search- Brat Girl.Thank You Bugaboo!!!
This one was a lot of work for me because I used my Cricut Design Space to create all those layers!! I cut the .jpeg on the green paper, the png on white cardstock and then I did some editing in my upload images area to have just the girl and the cupcakes printed on copic paper for coloring. The balloons were cut with Create a Critter, Pooh and Friends, Something to Celebrate and Elmo's Party cricut cartridges and were done with the Design Space feature "Print then Cut" as I didn't want this to be a really think project (You'll see why in 2 weeks ;))
This little project is going in with a very smart 5 year olds birthday card next weekend and I hope she loves it!!
