Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #279-Patriotism
Create a project that features Patriotism for any country.

This Weeks Sponsor

The prize is 7 digital stamps!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

Here is my project-

Hey everyone!!! I cannot wait to show you this project!! I had so much fun designing it!!

There has very recently been a very large forest fire in Northern Alberta causing 80000 people to be evacuated from there homes. The out pour of support from people around the province, country and some world wide has just been incredible! Some of the local crafters have made vinyl decals of the shape of Alberta with a heart cut out where Fort McMurray is and they say either "#albertastong" or "strong" along the side. I love them!! And I took my inspiration for this project from them...

The yellow rose is about where my family lives in the province.

Materials used:
White, Red, Blue and Yellow cardstock
CTMH Art Philosophy cricut cartridge
Go Canada cricut cartridge
Black Vinyl
Cricut Billionaire font
Shadow Box

I look forward to seeing what you all create for this Patriotism Challenge no matter where in the world you are from!!!

Faery Ink: Destiny in Oz-Cowardly Lion: Slider Card

Good Morning!! I have a lovely new image to show you today from Faery Ink!
This is Destiny in Oz- Cowardly Lion

I knew the minute I saw her that I had to give that mane a try!! And she was so much fun to work with!! Turning her into a card challenged me alittle bit since I wanted to keep with the Wizard of Oz theme and I am not a Wizard of Oz buff... But I do see me looking for it on Netflix this weekend to watch with the girls!! I also tried a new style of card with this one so that always challenges you a little bit to think outside your normal confort zone..
Anywhoooo... Wanna see what I came up with?
This is the lovely Destiny all colored up! Isn't she so pretty!!
And then I put her on a card for my girlfriends soon to be 2 year old daughter. Pull that little black ribbon at the top there and this is what you get:

Aurora Wings Challenge #30: A Touch Of Class: Lady of the Forest Altered Picture Frame

Good Morning!! How are you today?
I have a really fun project to show you today using Aurora Wings- Lady of the Forest.
Digital Stamp - Lady of the Forest - Elf Queen in Beautiful Dress - coloring - Fantasy Line Art for Cards & Crafts by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff
Isn't she just gorgeous?! I am not gonna lie to you this image is tricky and takes so long to color but the end result is simply stunning!!!

And then when you turn it into a finished piece of art: LOOK OUT!!!
The end result is simply stunning! In my humble opinion... LOL

Here's a close up of the embellies:

And the quote:
"...with fairy grace,
We will sing and bless this place."
-Titania, A Midsummer Night's Dream
- William Shakespeare
I chose Shakespeare for a few reasons: #1 Shakespeare is all class to me. I always think of elegance and sophistication when I think of Shakespeare. #2 This image had me thinking of A Midsummer Night's Dream the whole time I colored it. This Lady of the Forest reminds me of Titania the Queen of the Fairies in the play. #3 This specific quote was chosen because it spoke to me of what I think fairies are; peaceful, gentle and good spirited. This frame is a gift for a coworker for her birthday and I love the idea that this Lady of the Forest will bless her home.

Materials used:
Aurora Wings- Lady of the Forest colored with copics
Prima Flowers and Leaves
Simplicity Rosette ribbon and pearl ribbon
Recollections pearl headed pins
CTMH colonial white cardstock
Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet, Antique Linen, Dusty Concord and Faded Lilac distress inks
Bazzill basics cardstock
Liquitex Glazing Medium
Grey milk paint
CTMH Art Philosophy cricut cartridge
12x12 Frame  for 5x7 picture from Michaels

And there you have my project for this week!! Thanks so much for coming by to take a look! I cannot wait to see all the classy things you create!! Someone make a candle for me k? I love the idea I just am terrified to try myself!! LOL Make sure you post whatever awesome-ness you create in the challenge at Aurora Wings Challenge Blog!!
