Pooh Bear Nursery

My sister in law is pregnant and all she wants for the babies nursery is Pooh Bear and Friends wall decals. My mother in law, bless her soul, brought me home a bunch of Disney cricut cartridges (Hell yes!!!) So the first thing I did was get to work on Baby Pypers nursery... Wanna see? Ya you do!!!
These 3 frames were designed in Design Space and cut on cricut printable vinyl. I LOVE the way they turned out!! Forgive the screen shot but I'm not sure I will get a picture of them on the wall... They measure about 6"x6"
This 12"x12" was also designed in Design Space. I cut Pooh on the printable vinyl and the words on just red cricut vinyl.

This is the card to go with the gift. Again, designed in Design Space. I used alot of print and cut on this card just to keep the layers from making it 2" thick. Lol I also used the writing feature on my new Explore Air. It was so much fun to design. I thought it might be alittle busy so I designed another one as well and let hubby pick... this was his choice! He has such good taste ;)

This is a lamp hubby and I built for the baby. I used a glass block from Micheals with the predrilled hole. The vinyl was tricky to get on because when I spliced it in DS the lines became so thin!! The lights were terrible!! I thought it would be easy to find what I wanted.... I was sooo wrong!!! We ended up trashing 1 night light, 1 11ft string of christmas lights, 1 set of battery operated lights from Michaels. My hubby is an electrician and thought he could fab something up for me... he was wrong lol. So the night before we needed to give the gift I ended up buying a string of battery operated led lights from bed bath and beyond that worked as well as we could hope at that point lol. So after work at 11pm I finished it off just in time for delivery 12hrs later!! I am very happy with the way it turned out and glad to have learned what we did! LOL

Thanks for popping by our hundred acre wood today!!!

Update: You do not need to use transfer tape with printable vinyl... in fact I would highly recommend against it!!! The vinyl will want to stick to the transfer tape a crazy amount and not to the wall!!!!
Also wanna see the new nursery all done??

So the decals above the window are shown above in this post, the vinyl over the change table is also shown above, the glowing light in the corner is the glass block I made. And bless my sweet sister in law, the red/gold blanket was also made by me for my first nephew. She thought it would be the perfect colors for this room and its still getting some love covering an apparently very ugly table. LOL

She adored this gift and told me it was the most thoughtful thing anyone had ever made her! I made have shed a tear or two.

And that's the update on this post!  :D

Support card

We have recently learned that my sister in laws sweet daddy has bone cancer. I want to do something for them just to let them know we, many other and God are all with them.
I used Freshly Made Sketches #179 as inspiration for this card because I was sooo totally stumped!! It was a hard one for me!!
Here is thier sketch:
And here is my card:

Thanks for popping in again!!

More Frozen...

This is the Frozen canvas I was telling you I was making the other day. Its all sealed and maybe to glittery now. But she adored it!!!

I used a stencil and mists for the background. Cut the corners on the cricut. And the Anna I got fromhttp://craftingwithmeek.blogspot.ca/2014/05/frozens-anna.html

Pretty happy with how she turned out!!!

Frozen Fever!! Is it over yet or just beginning?

We have 2 Frozen themed birthday parties this week and birthday season is just begining!! And after throwing a Frozen party I am all Frozen'ed out but a Mommy can't disappoint can she?
So for the first one I made this dress up apron. I have used the pattern...2,3,4 yes 4 times already and its been a hit! The kids love how easy it is for them to put on and off with very little help and it will grow with them!! But god help me if I have to make another Anna or Elsa one soon!! Except can I? Cuz I still have a ton of snowflake material... LOL I used a pattern from 733 thats quick and easy and oh so cute!!

The second party I haven't got the gift made yet as my cutting software is off line this evening. So I pulled out 'ol faithful to do the card up quick. I used Freshly Made Sketches #178 for this clean and simply card.

The background looks really pink doesn't it? I swear its very purple lol. For this card I used:
CTMH Snowflake stamps
CTMH Glacier ink and cardstock
CTMH pattern paper though from what pack I can't remember
Momento Ink
Wink of Stella brush pen
Copics: BG000, BG02, BG05
And you can just see the Frozen washi tape sticking out behind the snowflake there lol

And now I am gonna stamp some easter projects, take a hot bath and maybe color alittle we shall see... Good Night Friends!!!

Bubble Guppies Party!!

For my youngest daughters 2nd birthday we planned a "Bubble Guppies" party. Its one of the few shows she knows and watches. She has very few words but can sing the theme song!! Here's a look at what we did!!

Sign for the front door-- image from a Google search and modified by me

The front of her invitation-- image from a Google search and colored with copics by yours truly

Inside of her invitation-- images from Google search and added to my document

The banner pre-being a banner-- cut on cricut and hand glued all the sequins with the help of Auntie Alex

The center piece-- images from Google search and added to my vision

The craft-- except their little baggies do not have a pre-made project... its all the little pieces for them to create their own. Image from Google search and tediously cut out.

Her birthday card-- image from Google search and added to my creation

Her birthday present, well part of it... This is going to hang on her bedroom door. Last year I made her big sis' a Disney/Pixar Cars one and its been a big hit so I thought the "baby" needed one too. The characters are from a google search, I designed the playground (its not perfect but I tried!!) and all the sea life was cut with the Cricut.

This is the "Pin the..." Game I found in a store in Edmonton. I did end up cutting some more balls because we had more than 8 kids.

I cut bubbles on my cricut to put around the house for decoration, We bought Bubble Guppies bubbles on clearance in December (muahaha) for this event as the party favors. And the pinata we bought at our local Bulk Barn.

I made "Ocean Cookies".. I took circles and iced them to look like bubbles and turns out the only ocean critter cutters I have are dolphins and whales so thats what we made! I printed the placecards off a site I found on Pinterest.

I put cheddar ocean critters, vanilla cupcake goldfish and honey buns goldfish in little fish bowls.

And I made Jello aquariums... note to self: it was not as easy as Pinterest made it look... and they did NOT turn out the same but I tried lol.

That was our Bubble Guppies Party. Stay tuned for the scrapbooking to go along with it!!

Tea Cup of... Flowers? for my Mommy

We are very blessed to have an amazing support system around to help us with the kids when we need it!!! And lucky for my in laws they spend a fair amount of the year in the states which leaves my Momma picking up all the slack and god bless her she does it!! So I wanted to make her a special Thank You for always being there for us!!!

I had to pull an all nighter last night for a medical test this morning so this was my project. I had made the teacup and saucer, misted and stickles it so that all the hurry up and dry stages would be done and I could just make roses!

The papers are all just random peices from no where in particular. I used dylusions red to mist the bottom of the saucer since it was just white. I used gold, red and silver stickles, And pearl headed pins to attach each rose to the Styrofoam ball inside the cup. I cut the tag with my New Cricut Explore Air and even wrote the Thank You on it with the Cricut!!

This is the card I made to go with it. The image in Gardening Gail by Saturated Canary which I colored with copics. I uploaded her into my Design Space and did a print and cut with the new Cricut so I wouldn't have to fussy cut her out!!  All the papers are again just random paper hanging around. I rolled the roses myself and added alittle red stickles for some sparkle.

Hope my momma likes it and knows how much we appreciate all she does for us!!!

Stay tuned for a special project thats currently in my head for Nicks mommy too cuz she's amazing her own ways too!

Sewing Subway art

My mother in law is pretty awesome, makes me alittle insane lots of the time but I think that comes with the territory doesn't it?
I am so blessed to have an amazing mom and mother in law, both special and so helpful in thier own ways!!!
I like to thank them for all they do for us at least once a year and not just on Mothers Day so this is something I whipped up for my MIL and left on her counter for her return from the USA.
The entire image is on the Cricut Cartridge Word Collage. I just did a lot of copy and pasting and hide and contour to get each peice in the colors I wanted.

I think she liked it and I can't wait to see it in her space!!

Spiderman, Spiderman, if he can't do it no one can..

That's the old theme song isn't it?
I made this clock for a friends son for his birthday. I created my first SVG that actually worked. Used a spiderweb and numbers I found in Cricut Design Space and well the rest kinda explains itself.

I can"t wait for him to open it!!!

Pin Up Girls

I don't know if any of you know this about me but I love the images Krista creates over at Saturated Canary. So I started following her blog Saturated Canary. She is currently hosting a coloring contest and although I am still learning my copics (Like alot!!) I couldn't resist the urge to put in a creation!! Especially with the prize being a chance to help her design her next digi for release in April!! Can you say Frozen Beauty or Farming Beauty?? Well I can!! Lol

So here is what I came up with, with the amazing assistance of my Wanda girl!! I had so much fun putting together something alittle out of my norm!! I tried to do "punk funk pretty". I think we kinda nailed it!! This is "Beach Ink"
For this project I went with a black canvas, another first, and it actually rocked with the effect I was going for!! I used recolllections papers, ribbon, crochet doiley and flowers. I rolled the mosiac flowers cut from the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge. The little black flowers are Heidi Swapp (which now I'm out of and they are discontinued I think :(  I love them!) and misted with her Black velvet mist. I used her teal and mustard mists as well. The brass bird is Tim Holtz. The feathers and bottle cap are just random ones I had in my stash. I also used CTMH black dots inside the rolled flowers. The tattoo style heart pennant with wings I designed in Design Space. And the little bird boarder is cut from the rosette and ribbons cartridge. Then I put a touch of stickles on them, I used Tim Holtz peacock feathers distress ink as well as yellow and steel blue inca gold. I colored her with copics and again it was half my stash so if you want the list let me know!! But please don't make me type it all out ;)

I'm not sure if it was the green beer talking last night but when hubby saw what I was making he asked me to make him a brunette pin up girl with "Beach Ink" as well. So I got after it! Lol! When a man asks you to create him something you just do it!!

So here is my take on a "Beach Ink Pin Up Girl"

I again used Recollections papers and copics to color. The arrow and film strip are both Tim Holtz. I misted with Heidi Swapp teal mist. I used foam tape between each layer to give it lots of dimension. The 2 images we both designed and cut with my Explore Air and Design Space. I took a long time to lay it all out right to discover I didn't have one of the images (silly mistake I should have looked closer when I picked it!) and so I had to go pick a different bird but I think they turned out wicked!! You can't see in the picture but the rose is covered with an epoxy bubble left over from a Tim Holtz set of embellishments.

So that's what I have been working on the last few days and I think they are awesome!! Now which one to enter in the contest??

I am going to enter the first one in Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blogs # 247- Bye, Bye Birdie
I decided to enter the second one in The Color Challenge so stop by the link and pick your favorite! It doesn't have to be mine!! There are some gorgeous creations!!

I'm off for now... Gotta get the little ones present wrapped and a card prepped for her big sis to make tomorrow and another birthday cards and and and... Night!

My First Picture My Life pages...

For the month of February I used the CTMH Heartstrings PML cards to do our scrapbooking. I also used the previously mentioned Prima Stencil for a special page for my oldests first guitar lessons.
I put in the card that came with my Valentines Day flowers and the girls and I dried some of them to put in my book as well. 2 things I never would have done with my traditional scrapbooks...
Take a look ya'll!!
See the dried flowers on the right there? Love it!!
This is also my first hybrid page.. I need alittle practice!!

Don't you love that stencil?? I think it was so cool and although I'm not thrilled with the little CTMH puffies embellishments it did need something in those big white spaces...

I'll keep learning but for now I think I did ok?!

Some Bunnies Love You

Part of my new planner is to do one activity a day with the girls just me and them and no distractions...
Today we made an Easter Canvas to hang by our front door..

I love these little crafts that I will keep and rehang year after year!!

Make some noise!!

I bought this wicked Guitar stencil back in November with hubby in mind.. I haven't used it yet so I came up with an idea for my moms husband for his birthday...

I used a Prima stencil, black acrylic paint, Silver precious metals and Bolivian Blue acrylic glaze. The words I created my own stencil with my new Cricut Explore Air!

Pirate ship mixed media

I promised you guys I would have some cool mixed media for you soon!! And so it begins..

I mention a few weeks ago my friend was having a Pirate theme for her sons first birthday, remember? So I got to thinking what I could make for him? A few years ago, Wanda, made my oldest a cookie sheet alphabet board. She painted it all up and vinyled the abc's on there and then gave her abc magnets to practice with. Its been a favorite here so I thought could I do something pirate like that for little man?
Turns out that yes, yes I can!!
First I took a pizza pan from the dollar store and cut the inner image on my cricut. Then I distressed the edges of the pan to make them look more antique and glued the heads off some brads on to make it look like you were looking out a port hole (is that what its called? I get sea sick... so I really have no idea! LOL)

Then I cut, colored, laminated and glued some magnetic strips to the back of some images for him to put on.

The Kaven pirate flag I designed just for him. I thought the idea of the cross bones as the v was super cool.

And lastly I took a dollar store chest and covered it in paper, distressed and painted it to look like a real pirates chest.

How do you all think it came out? I'm in love and so happy to have it done!! I hope he loves it too!!

Supplies used:
Pirates and Mermaids cartridge
Lifes a beach cartridge
Create a critter cartridge
Heidi swapp color shine mist in teal
Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers distress ink
Gold stickles
Brown acrylic paint
Silver, Lavared, and yellow Inca Gold
Modge Podge
Tim Holtz antique brads
Dollar store magnetic roll
Crayola Markers-- I know some of my colors are off on the magnets and I know had I colored them with my copics they would look way better, but I figured he is 1.. who knows how long they will last and thats a lot of copic ink!!

Ta-ta for now!! Hubby's home from work so better go cuddle and pretend I love him as much as my cricut <wink wink> ;)
